Welcome to this episode of The Shooting The Breeze Sailing Podcast (STBSP). This time around we are speaking to Capt. Ritche and Capt. Kevin Derr from Sail Cocoa Beach, a daysailing charter operation on the Space Coast of Florida.
Listeners should be familiar with Capt. Kevin Derr. He has been a frequent guest and friend of the show, who has been cruising for the past bunch of years and has ended up in Cocoa Beach as a Liveaboard.
We chat with both of them about how the business got started, how they delivered the Catamaran to Florida via Hells Gate, OCMD, and the ICW, what they offer clients including Space Launches, Wildlife, Ocean, and ICW sailing trips, and what the plans for the future are. They are hoping to start an ASA sailing School, and keelboat charters as well.
Kevin tells us how his plans changed from full time cruising, so setting down roots in the Space Coast area, and how even though he is “Retired” he now has 4 jobs…… We may see him this fall at the United States Sailboat Show in Annapolis. We may even see Capt. Ritche!
