Kim and Del Hogg of Going the Whole Hogg

Welcome to this episode of The Shooting The Breeze Sailing Podcast (STBSP) with our guests, Adventure Travel couple Kim and Del Hogg from the Going the Whole Hogg blog and YouTube channels.

Tall Ship Sailing

I caught up with them via a Film they did where they went on a Tall Ship Sailing Whisky tour in Scotland, aboard a rehabbed Herring boat named the Flying Dutchman. It was more than just a YouTube video, it was a Film! Clocking in at an hour and 20 minutes, it was just what I look for in a Travel Experience. This got me hooked, so I started poking around and found their video series aboard another tall ship, the Bessie Ellen.

Whisky Tour!

The Bessie Ellen is a rehabbed trading vessel from 1904 that had plied the waters of the UK for decades, before Captain Nikki Alford found her and brought her back to life. For the past 20 odd years, Captain Nikki has chartered voyages in these waters, and in 2024 voyaged around the UK in celebration of Bessie Ellen’s 120th anniversary. Kim and Del went along for the ride, and is now in the middle of putting out that video series on YouTube.

They have officially gotten bitten by the Sailing Bug, having gone to the Caribbean on another Tall Ship, as well as having plans to do more sailing as part of their adventures in the future.

Kim enjoys a Hot Beverage in the Chilly Weather!

Many of their Sailing Adventures are made possible by VentureSailHolidays.
