Welcome to episode 107 of The Shooting The Breeze Sailing Podcast (STBSP) with guest Rob Deane of the Baltimore County Sailing Center, located in Rocky Point County Park, just south of Middle River Maryland and on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay, just inland of Hart Miller Island. I found Rob via the Upper Bay Sailing Facebook group, and initially had him confused with the Downtown Sailing Center, which is located in center city Baltimore. I quickly realized my mistake, but was intrigued nonetheless with what was happening in my neck of the woods of the Upper Chesapeake Bay.
They’ve got affordable and easy access to the water for kayaking, paddleboarding, and sailing. You can learn to sail, hang out on the small beach with a bonfire, possibly a band or a few beers during weekly events, bring the family, send your children to two week camps, and there are special nights for at risk youth and sober living communities to come enjoy a night on the water. You can check out some racing, day trips to Hart Miller, or just have a relaxing sail or paddle in the protected waters that are plenty big to explore. Find the Baltimore County Sailing center at the end of Route 702, or over on their Facebook Page.
We also have a Surprise treat, a new song by fan Miles Brown called “Three to One” off of his new release “Evidence of Soul and Body.” Its a Jazz Record to be released May 17th by Detroit Music Factory Records.
