Welcome to episode 208 of The Shooting The Breeze Sailing Podcast (STBSP) in which we get some interviews at the 2026 edition of the Annapolis Sailboat Show, held in October. This will the first in a multi part series of episodes, probably 3 episodes total. I have to review the interviews that I did get to make sure they are viable. I was donated a new audio recorder and this was the first field use IRL, and there were some bumps in the road. Please excuse any wandering vocals or wind noise in the background, I tried making it tolerable so we can share these stories!
First we chat with Stevie Reeves from Bacon Sails, a used gear Chandlery based in Annapolis. I hadn’t seen Stevie all season, since early April, and it is now becoming a tradition stopping by his booth and having a chat, plus it gave me time to test my rig with a friendly audience.
We then speak with Aiden from Oakcliff Sailing, an outfit located in the Long Island area that helps train sailors in all facets of sailing, from racing to rehabbing boats. They had two boats they are working on floating in the show, and having present vendors outfitting the boat with their gear. Led by American sailing legend, Dawn Riley, Oakcliff Sailing is highly regarded in the industry.
We then get to stop by Kalos, an Amel Supermaramu 2000, 53ft sailboat, just like the famous Delos, that was donated to Ebb and Flow by Mike, and to be sold to help fund programs at the non profit started by Brady and Blue, who famously spent years aboard Delos. Ebb and Flow is an offshoot of the Cruisers Academy business Brady and Blue started back in 2019 in lake Tahoe. The basic mission of Ebb and Flow is get folks that do not have access to sailing for whatever reason, the ability to go out sailing and enjoy the water and great outdoors as part of Blue Theory, which shows that scientifically peoples brain chemistry changes when exposed to water and nature.
